The Gund Company is pleased to announce the acquisition of Weidmann Industries, LP of Canada from WICOR Americas, Inc. effective December 1, 2008.

Weidmann Industries, LP in Fergus, Ontario is the market leading fabricator of thermoset rigid laminates and specialty thermoplastics in Canada. The Gund Company is acquiring only the Fergus fabrication plant from Weidmann. This transaction does not impact Weidmann's cellulose based insulation manufacturing, fabrication, or testing operations around the world.

Under the new name, The Gund Company Canada, we will continue to operate the fabrication facility in Fergus, Ontario and look forward to additional growth for the operation. The existing management, sales, and service team will continue to serve our customers with dedicated and passionate responsiveness.

The Gund Company is a manufacturer and fabricator of electrical insulation materials and composites for power systems equipment. The markets we serve include the manufacture and repair of generators, transformers, switchgear, power supplies, electric motors, electric furnaces, and related electrical and electronic equipment.

As a vertically integrated manufacturer, The Gund Company brings value to our customers through application engineering services, extremely short lead-times, industry leading quality, and lean-based cost reduction programs.

Operating with 7 facilities in 6 cities in North America, The Gund Company is the only thermoset rigid insulation supplier with manufacturing locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In addition, TGC Jiaxing continues to serve our customers in the Chinese market.
